About Me
I am British but have lived in New Zealand since Feb 1998
I moved here on my own, on a one-way ticket, and decided that if I didn't like the place then I had to work hard in my nursing job to get the money for my ticket back to England.
Well, I am still here, and funnily enough, my parents and brother live in New Zealand too, so nothing to actually go back for!
My current house is my 53rd address in 53 years! I have had the lucky experience of living in such places as England, Kuwait, Jordan, France and America. I have had some amazing experiences in my life and wouldn't replace any of them for anything else.
I met my husband at work, of all places! We were together for 22 years and married for 13 years, but sadly separated at the end of 2021.
We are lucky enough to have 2 charming boys who are 18 & 20yrs old.
I love to keep up to date with what family and friends are up to, and love them to know what we are doing, so I started my first blog in 2005 to keep family who were overseas up to date, without pounding them with endless emails. This remained active until about 2014.
I love crafts and have been an avid cross stitcher for many years, although sadly that has fallen by the wayside as I discovered quilting, although that too has fallen by the way side for a time being as I have been growing my boys, but I have always known that the time will come when I will start to get 'me time' back and then I will be able to run with my sewing to my heart's content. It sadly hasn't stopped me collecting patterns along the way, so actually have so much that I want to do not sure if I will ever find the time.
So, what time I do have is spent living life and loving on my boys. I know that they will always want their mum, but very soon they will be happy for Dad to be the main person with them. So, until that time arrives, I will just keep my blog up to date and dream of all the wonderful crafts I can look forward to making.
Now that the boys are older, due to situations, I never did get my mummy time for crafting when I thought I would. My boys still loved to be with me and life just got in the way.
I still craft, I have just changed to different things but I hope to get back into other modes of crafting one day, but now, other aspects of growing older have hindered my ability and it is a wishing game to see if my fingers will let me continue with crafting as much as I would like.
